Hey! Raleigh...and any other part of the world that may be reading this! I am Chasity, the founder, and Owner of JC Photography. I figured our first blog post should be about me and who I am since I'm sure you all are just dying to know who is behind the camera. So here goes nothing...
I am currently 21 and (11/12ths) years old haha which really means ill turn 22 in exactly a month from today. Yeah, I know...I seem young to own my own business, but alas it is true. See the great thing about photography is that it is an art form that doesn't come with an age limit, sometimes it doesn't even come with experience although I would never encourage you to trust someone with no experience, that usually never ends well. Since we are talking about the experience I think its time I tell you about mine which I'm sure is a key factor in your decision to book me.
I started when I was 16 (you can do the math that is almost 6 years of experience) It was my senior year in high school and I needed a senior project. I'd always had a fascination with photography and decide that I might as well do a project on something I was passionate about. My senior project lead me through a few free photo shoots and I even turn my father spare "golf" room into my own personal portrait studio (he wasn't trilled). I learned Alot through my project and stuck pretty close to the hobby after I graduated high school. Toward the end of my undergraduate college career, I decided to take the leap of faith and open for business, so on July 31, 2016, JC Photography was born!
Since opening "shop" in 2016 in Robeson County, NC things have been pretty steady, I have met so many different people through photography, not just clients, but I have made friends along the way, and even inspired a few people to open their own businesses as well.
And now your next question is going to be well if you opened shop in Robeson County what in the world are you doing in Raleigh? Well, the answer? I was accepted into the North Carolina State University Grad School for Communication which is also what I got my undergraduate degree in at UNC-Pembroke (Go Braves!)
So as you can tell my business and I have been making steps together. I "up'd" my collegiate game and my business made the jump to the big city of Raleigh which altogether is exciting for me. I have been here for about two weeks now and this is what I've learned so far: Don't go anywhere if you don't have to from 5 pm to 6 pm, avoid I-40 at all cost, and the one traffic rule everyone follows is "I don't care what you do, as long as you do not hit me"
So now that you've met me I am so excited to hear from all of you! Send us an email and let us know your story we love to make friends especially in a city full of diversity!
