Connection. Let’s talk about it. 

Imagine having a photographer on your wedding day that you didn’t connect with. Maybe you’ve only met them once or maybe even never before your big day. What a nightmare it would be to end up with a photographer that didn’t listen or understand you as a person, maybe even made you uncomfortable. 

Disconnects such as these are what lead couples into having wedding photos they HATE. And unfortunately, I hear ladies tell me all the time they hated their wedding photographer, or that their photographer refused to work with what they wanted.

A few things that can help you avoid these situations is to research your photographer. Find out if you have the same things in common. ALWAYS ask for a website or portfolio. Their portfolio not only shows you their work but it also gives you an understanding of the types of shots you'll be getting from your own day. And lastly, if you can meet them in person, do it. Your first interactions can ease a lot of your nerves or allow you to pick up indications that you are not the right fit for each other. Just because a photographer is in your price range DOES NOT mean they are the photographer for you.
